At some time in our life, most of us have experienced a relationship so powerful and perfect that we can’t believe it when our boyfriend or husband announces that he needs space.

The are various reasons why a boyfriend may decide that he needs space.
It could be work problems, family problems, insecurity, fear of commitment and many other reasons. If your boyfriend has suddenly announced that he needs more space you will find these tips useful:

1. It’s important to keep strong and not to forget that it’s his loss, not yours. It makes sense to play a little “hard to get”. People like strong people, and people also want what they think they can’t have.

2. Keep communication with your ex boyfriend brief. This will help to avoid starting to go on about the situation and will also remind your ex of what it’s like being part of your life. If he really does need space then keeping things low key will help to respect this.

3. If you follow tips 1 and 2 you should be seeing some improvement. Talk about all the good things from your past relationship together but be sure to avoid any negative memories.

4. If your boyfriend does not seem to be responding to these advances then it is possible that he really does need some time and space and should should respect this. If there are any signs of improvement then keep up the slow, patient work. Don’t try to rush things.

5. If you are getting definite signals from your ex then at this stage it’s ok to explain all your feelings to him. As always, don’t appear weak or needy. A strong, positive approach will always be many times more successful.
